Welcome
I am, Amanj Sherwany, a PhD student at faculty of Informatics of the University of Lugano (USI). I am woring with the Programming Languages groups under the supervision of Prof. Nate Nystrom. I have M.Sc. in Computer Science at Uppsala University (grad. 2011). I studied my B.Sc. at Salahaddin University, and graduated in 2006. I am from Erbil, one of the oldest cities in the world, and I am Kurdish from Kurdistan
I used to be a poet, but the deeper I go into computer science, the less talented I get! Seriously, being a computer scientist makes you a senseless guy! I also enjoy reading Kurdish poetry, both old and new. I adore Hajy Qadry Koyee, and think he was one very unique guy. I also enjoy Abdulla Pashew, Salim Sahebqran, Mustafa Bagy Kurdy, Naly, Mahwy and Ranj Sangawy.
By now, you may have noticed that I am using Wikipedia a lot, most of my links in the above two paragraphs were from Wikipedia. This is normal, as I am an Open Source guy and I love free and open source contents. I am an open source advocate, and gave a seminar about it in my city (to be more specific at Software Engineering department at Salahaddin University), I also have a blog in that concern.
My programming language of choice is Java, my favorite IDE is NetBeans. My favourite operating system is Linux (be it Ubuntu, Xubuntu or Android).
